Probably the easiest way to file for unemployment benefits is through online than going to the unemployment office of your state. This helps streamline the whole process, making it considerably convenient and easy for everybody involved. Check your states’ unemployment office to determine if it lets you file unemployment online.

In order to file your unemployment benefit online, you need to use systems such as Internet Explorer 6 or higher, with enabled cookies, Windows XP, recent Adobe Reader version such as version 6 or higher. Information that you have to provide when filing your claim online includes your name, social security number, mailing address, name of your previous employer, mailing address of the employer, dates of employment and separation for all previous employers you have worked to the date of filing your claim. For non US citizens, you need to provide your Alien Registration information.

Make sure to have all the information beforehand. While unemployment benefit requirements vary from state to state, there are several standards required by most states. Using your mother’s maiden name is for security reasons that let the unemployment office access your files. If you are a present or veteran military member, make certain to have all the information ready, including your date of separation.
